Why are these put at the end of rails? I know I can spin more without them, and they just hurt my knees. Watching people spin before the dick/fall off it is just proving that they are pointless. Please tell me, and all the other people hitting the park this weekend how to do them.
It makes the rail slightly more technical so its more of a challenge and more fun. Donkey dicks give you more options with the rail. You can slide the whole rail and use the dick for extra pop, you can jump off early and tap the dick, or you can disaster the whole thing and just hit the dick. I'm sure there are many more ways to use them.
One of the main reasons you see them is because it's an inspired hand rail from the streets, just like everything else. If you look around cities/parks, there are donkey dicks everywhere.
I don't like to hit them that much but they're good for getting extra pop off the end.
Why the hell not. It's all about variety. If the only down rail has one then I can understand but come on man. I'd rather have one of those than 12 of the same flat rails.
Also it's funny how the sport has changed. I remember when people used to hack saw the ends off of urban rails to hit them. Now it's all part of the fun.
They had one at Gore Mountain last year and it was fairly steep, then they improved it for this year to make the kink not feel like hitting a brick wall.
