Threads getting deleted

Not my threads, but it seems like many more threads are getting deleted for no apparent reason. The Phil Robertson/Duck Dynasty thread, Poon_Hammers ridiculously hilarious thread, and theres been a few others. So what gives? If almost every user wants to see it, and it isn't spam, why is shit getting deleted? Because its offensive?

Big ups to the mod's, you guys make the site tick, but it would be nice to have a bit more consistency on what is deleteable and banable and what isn't.

I agree. There have been some threads deleted where it makes no sense at all. Respect to the mods for the thankless job they do, but when it looks like people are deleting threads just because they don't like it, the site loses credibility. I would think long and hard before I deleted a thread. If threads are entertaining and don't break any rules, IMO they should be left alone.

I took five days off and now have 233 messages sitting in my inbox. Fuck!

I'll be working my way through them all today and tomorrow though, and should be able to get the majority of them answered.

No worries! All in good time, I know how busy you guys get. I was just curious how long the Donator symbol would take but I read the PSA and am more than willing to sit down and wait my turn.

Should be an ability to vote to get a thread deleted. Just click something like "request deletion" and if it gets enough, a mod can delete it.

Which would require an amount of maturity and responsibility from the community if such a feature were to be implemented.

Well I mean as long as mods still have the final say in deletion I could see how a feature like that would work. a little unnecessary though, the Mods here do a great job.
