Just got a new gopro and Im wondering what your favorite mounts are. I heard helmet mounts suck, so i was thinking chest or pole. I only freeski so no pow or cliffs for me.
dont mount it on yourself at all, stick a flat mount onto a hockey stick you've cut down to your desired size, and then get some friends to film you, MAKE SURE THEY STAY EXTREMELY CLOSE!!!!!!
Thats great if you have people who will film you. But what is the best mount to get footage of what you are doing. I dont have people to film me so i need a mount that i control that will be of what im doing. Whether that be pov, pole, or chest
Honestly, just get somebody to film you. Especially for park, pole mount edits don't look too good. Pov can be interesting for a few runs but they are better for bc IMO
Never ever ever ever ever do a pole mount. I fucking hate them with a burning passion and they automatically fuck your skiing up. If you're going to do it, go with the chest mount- but only turn it on if you're skiing in the front seat and driving your tips with good hand position- otherwise you'll just look like a massive hack and everyone will make fun of you.
selfies with pole mounts are fine for a shot or two if youre hauling ass or really shredding, but those 5 minute edits of some douche's face riding are so boring
Not only that but the second you stick your hand out there, 99% of peoples' skiing goes to complete shit. It's like "Hey look how poorly I skied these awesome conditions!" and it drives me crazy haha.
Backpack strap. Use the vented helmet mount or just cut up the plate from the GoPro packaging. The POV isn't as good as a helmet mount but you don't look like a complete tool so it's worth the compromise.
I'm diggin my new pole mount. They now have a rubber insert thing so they actually attach solidly to the pole. As mentioned earlier, the video from it gets pretty boring, but you can definitely get a few cool selfies out of it.
