I can see a great line through those bumps
Madzzb
Procrastinating on work and found this thread. Figured I would post my tattoo maybe sway some opinions. My tat is the mountain range that surrounds the town I grew up in with a Zuni Sunface underneath.
mmccarthy14I like the fact that it's not big and begging for attention. Small tattoos like this are alright with me.

soulskierIn my earlier years, I was completely against them.
Later on I thought about getting one but there wasn't really anything significant enough in my life to have it permanently inked on my body.
Today, I popped a zit on my left shoulder and have decided that I'm too big of a wuss to handle the pain.
katie.Linework and geometric tattoos all dayyyyyyy. At some point in my life I will get some ink on my body but right now doesn't feel right. I think people associate tattoos with a young/rebellious stage in life but I think tattoos can come at any time as long as the decision to get one is decently thought out. I'm all about the back of the arm, or calf. Love them on guys or girls, to a degree. I want to see at least some skin as well as ink when you take your shirt off.
MadzzbIt really isn't painful, it's just a weird sensation.
uni-cornYou must not be getting them in the right spots. Tattoos fucking hurt, no two ways about that.
uni-cornIf you have an Instagram, do yourself a favor and follow @roxx___
MadzzbI have one one my ribs and I just didn't think it was super painful. Given it is small and there really isn't much to it, but I think if you're stoked to get it you just kind of forget about the pain.
PeppermillRenoYeah, I like stupid tattoos the best. Especially when a guy has dumb ones and you can laugh at him.
Nothing screams peasant like having tattoos.
In all honestly they are fine on men if you only have them upper arms and back/chest. Women they are pretty unlady like in general if you have more than 2-3 hidden its sort of trashy IMO.
_Jeffrey_What is everyone's opinion on sports team logo tattoos? I'm thinking about getting one. I've been a dedicated fan since i was a very small child.
Dan.either you have to worlds highest pain tolerance, or yours was so quick that the pain never even set in, but my side hurt so badly that I don't want to go back to have it finished. 6 hours in got me this far
MadzzbYeah yours is like a million times bigger than mine, but I heard endorphins mask the pain after your an hour or so in bigger tattoos? Getting a new one soon!

uni-cornI'm sorry, but this is bad. I have my fair share of poorly done tattoos, but nothing that big. Maybe I'm just spoiled.
Dan.that's cute that you think that about my bloody swollen side. Tell me, what's bad about the technique, and how can you tell from an unhealed picture?
zzzskizzzI can't draw for shit, but that looks like a child drew that.
Dan.you have the reading comprehension of a child, I asked about technique, not artwork, as the artwork is inconsequential.

jah_house_chefprobably getting some significant work done within the next two years once i can fit a quarter or shoulder piece into my budget.
did anyone else have some significant shit talking from their parents? I'm doing it anyways, just trying to figure out how to approach the "yeah i got ink done" conversation with conservative parents

cobra_commanderTattoos on skinny hipsters just make them look more pathetic.
Thizzle.Fuck I'm glad that isn't the case. My dad has probably 20 tattoos, my brother is an artist and has them from his upper neck down to his feet and my other two brothers have a couple as well as my mom having one with the names of all of her kids in it. My family is about the ink I guess lol. I kinda got the shit end of the stick though because my brother used to tat my whole family for free and he is an excellent artist but now he is stuck doing prison tattoos for the next 15-20 so I have to actually pay for mine :(
Thizzle. As do tats on hugely muscular dudes. You gotta be somewhere in between if you wanna rock some tattoos.
Case in point... Brock Lesnar became 100x more douchier when he got a fucking sword tattooed on his chest.
omnidataIn the case of Brock it wouldn't matter if he was a scrawny hipster or his roided self, a penis sword is a penis sword.

StoseThinking about getting something on my bicep but I'm worried about it disforming significantly. Anyone have input on this? Or best places to get a tattoo?

jfletcherokay so I recently spoke with a dude who changed my whole mind on this issue. Originally I was totally pro tattoo. I think they look baddass, super hot on girls, and I'm all for art and expressing yourself and all that. but what this guy told me changed my mind totally. He was like "you have any tattoos, and I said nah, havent really had the inspiration hit me yet." He goes "good, never get a tattoo, it's like having a 4 year old retarded boy draw with a crayon on the walls of the pyramids."
Kind of a rash perspective I know, but if he explained it in a pretty understandable way. Even if the artist is amazingly talented, and there are countless incredible tattoo artists out there, In an evolutionary mind set, your body is a temple built by an undefinable incredibly complex and ancient force. even it's "imperfections," are the result of millions and millions of years of struggle, survival, and evolution. To have something as ignorant and uninformed as a single human being make a mark on this temple permanantly is like having a kid who just visits the temple think that it would look cool with some cave paintings and go and scribble all over it.
This put me in a tough spot, because I think tattoos are dope and they look awesome and I really wanted one for a while. But when you really think about what your body is the result of, defiling it with a needle seems kind of desperate don't you think?
