Do surveys actually work?

Everytime I try to download something and it asks me for a survey it doesn't work! Has it worked to any of you guys? This is pissing me offfffff

You know how when you downloading something, it asks you for a survey or to enter to win something?

This doesn't ever work. the file never unlocks
