So I am looking a pair of sticks that have Salomon z12 or Atomic FFG (whichever way you want to look at it) demo bindings mounted on them. My question: is it possible to mount a pair of STHs in the same ski without re-drilling? I would love to buy them and them take off the demos and put on regular bindings but dont want to have the skis drilled twice. Is this possible? Thanks in advance

Nope afraid not. The plates that a demo run on use a differnt pattern. You should be fine to remount some sth at the same mount point though as the holes should not get in each other's way.

^yeah he's right you won't be able to use the existing holes, however the demo hole pattern for the z12 is pretty spread out so you'd most likely be able to mount the STH in the spot you want it. Just curious, why is it so crucial to not have a second set of holes?

It isn't crucial, I am just super frugal. I always try to find skis that I can use for a year and sell for almost the same price :) In the last decade I bet I have only lost about $400-$500 on skis, and I get a new pair every year or every two years. So, if I find a screamer of a deal on sticks that I can change out for great bindings and then sell them with the good bindings versus drilling an additional set of holes... drilling skis just kills the value
