Need some Car Advice/Help

The tires I'm running are pretty fucking low and I need to replace them and instead of just picking up some new tires, I figured I would check out craigslist to try and pick up some rim and tire combos.

I found some today that are stock OEM rims off of a WRX that are 235/45/17. I am currently driving a '98 forester with stock suspension and tires that are P205/70R 15 95S.

Definitely looking to upgrade from the 15 inch rims to the 17 inch rims for pure aesthetic reasons and understand the decrease in performance and speedometer reading error that will occur.
I just need to know if these rims/tire combo will be compatible with my current setup and if they are not, what I need to do in order to make them compatible.

I have not purchased these wheels yet, but would like to do so rather soon in order to make my driving to the mountains a little safer instead of driving on my worn ass tires I have now.

If you have any knowledge on this topic, please drop it on me now. I have reached out to other sources and will continue to. Just trying to build up my knowledge from multiple sources to ensure I get the correct information.

If you get them and have access to a computer programming system, you might be able to change the settings for speedometer reading by adjusting your cars computer to a different rpm, because of the larger wheel. Good luck, hopefully youre able to work something out

You have to lookup the sizes recommended for your car. It should be on a sticker in the driver side door jam near the seat (at least is in my car). Then check the offset of the wheels and the offset your car needs to fit over the brakes.

The BMW (e39) I bought is the only style they made a bigger wheel hub bore for, so I've been playing this game trying to find the wheel that will fit over my brakes and hubs for snows.

Have you checked your blinker fluid, maybe that could be causing the problem

personally i just put more air in mine when they get low, a lot cheaper than buying new tires

Those wheels WILL NOT fit without spacers. They will take out a strut because they are a lot wider. Just put some new tires on and save up for when you can afford some good rims with new tires.
