What the fuck Jiberish

Recently i've seen that Jiberish did a collab with Railcar Fine Goods, which i think is sick. Seeing them do a collab with an old fashion wool company is good, especially with them switching it up with all these companies and doing more collabs outside of the ski industry. I still like them as a company because of their fine products, even though it's expensive but i always 1-2 products by them every year..

At any rate, I'm sorry but i understand how vintage these jeans must be but seriously $200? I just do not see how anything could ever been that expensive and still make a profit overtime, let alone sell at all.


Also what the fuck, a $400 jacket? No offense but you guys are some Versace, Tom Ford, etc.

I know you guys sacrifice more for what you want to do then the actual profit, I've emailed you guys about your structure at Jiberish, it makes sense but its crazy right now.

You guys are an amazing company but this just seems so expensive.

denim culture is huge right now. I've seen raw selvedge denim pants go for 700+

A buddy's company of mine just started making pants belts and backpacks. 100% american made, all rivets, thread, buckles etc. arguably some of the most quality pieces out there right now

glad to see Jiberish working with railcar though. I have a pair of their pants and love them.

I have literally 20+ denim sites alone in clothing bookmark folders it's insane. That specific part of the industry is exploding.

I mean....I could go on and on and on. I guess it's justified that this is a "skiing" website with only a select few members that actually know more about fabrics, quality, 'fashunz', and the work that goes into some of these names to make them so known. Same thing goes with the WWM effort with jiberish. The direction of Jiberish isn't "changing" or "branching outside of the skiing industry." You're silly. New ideas/styles surface but that doesn't take away from the backbone of where Jiberish started. Before you make a thread bitching about the cost of a product that's going to outlast that Mossimo 5 pocket pant you snagged at Target yesterday with that holiday discount, use some common sense.

Jiberish is entering a new market, a market where those prices really aren't that crazy. In fact it's kind of average, assuming the quality is alright. Comparing them with Versace and Tom Ford is a little far out there, I see where you're coming from but those brands are beyond normal fashion for the majority of people.

I don't mind spending a few hundred dollars denim, in my experience you get what you pay for whether that's quality, fit, style, etc.. Of course the prices are a little inflated but some people don't mind spending the money as long as they know they're getting a good product.

If you spend 200 dollars on jeans fuck you. There are so many other things in this world I would rather spend 200 dollars on. It's not that I can't afford to spend 200 on jeans, but why the fuck would I when I can get some levi's for a reasonable price that look practically fucking identical. Don't give me some bullshit about quality. I have plenty of cheap jeans that have lasted years and years of abuse. If you're spending that much money on jeans your paying for the name and you are a douche. /endrant.

Jiberish stopped getting my money years ago, because of things like this. Not saying it's good or bad, I just don't have the money to spend 200 dollars on jeans, and 400 on a coat. Also, I bought Jiberish when it was a ski brand, not a lifestyle brand. Anyone who argues this is still skiing related, I would like to see you on the hill in your $200 jeans and $400 pea coat.

That's kind of ignorant to say. It's downvoted because people who are into fashion understand that $200 for jeans isn't crazy. Sure it ain't cheap but by no means is it expensive either. That's not to say you can't get good stuff for cheap or that you can't have good style on a budget. I'm merely stating facts here and so are all the others defending those prices.

LOL at the downvotes. Why do you need one pair of jeans (that looks only marginally better than the regular Levis), that costs $400.00+?

$200.00 I can understand. That's just a nice piece of expensive clothing. But $400.00 and over is fucking retarded. I'm not telling you how to spend your money or judging you on how you spend it either, I'm just saying in my opinion a pair of jeans that costs half a grand is a dumb buy.

And now because we disagree, we don't "get fashion". Fashion is subjective, the clothes that I like you might not and vice versa. But beyond that, I would rather shell out huge dough for pieces of clothing that will actually get me respect and admiration from others, like an expensive suit or a very nice pair of shoes. You know, clothing that people other than denim heads will recognize as being expensive and high-fashion.

And even then, I probably wouldn't spend more than a 2-3 hundred bucks on a single piece of clothing. Again, not judging anybody, I just don't get the denim craze at all.

This is going to be an exaggerated example but I'm just trying to prove a point that there is a difference based on looks, even just looking at a few different jeans.

SDrvper, I do believe that I said that you don't have to spend that kind of money to be fashionable but most certainly spending that kind of money on the right brands does make you fashionable. I would say buying $400 true religions isn't fashion, but rather a trend if you're buying it just for the name. You see what I'm saying?

Now try to tell me you can't see why these would be priced higher than cheaper jeans, I don't care if you like them or not but you have to see where I'm coming from. (it's exaggerated for emphasis)

can't really blame you guys haha it's a little out there but Saint Laurent and Balmain denim are huge in fashion right now.

btw it's just leather and I doubt you would want to be on your knees with those zippers all over your knees..

You have just explained why you have no business even commenting on denim whatsoever. First of all, do you realize that Jiberish had Momotaro's Selvedge Denim made for them over a year ago? This is not something new to them. And they were more than $200 I think. And do you realize those jeans (and I believe these Railcar Denim) come with a 10 year warranty? A 10 year warranty... Just think about that for a fucking second. Raw Selvedge denim is COMPLETELY different than the piece of shit jeans that both you and your poorly dressed dad wear. I don't care how much money he has, he has bad taste in jeans and that is something you guys can talk over at dinner. Tell him it is a bummer he dresses so shitty since he makes decent money, but he probably stopped caring how he looks in public years ago after popping out a few kids. You guys can just buy what is important to you since looking good in public obviously isn't a concern to either of you.

Comparing you and your dad's Wranglers to Raw Selvedge Denim is like comparing a Tennis Racket to an Octopus. There is nothing that they have in common whatsoever. Raw Denim is worn over time and breaks in on you. They fade where they are supposed to fade, they crease and whisker where they are supposed to. They are made on 30" rolls and by vintage machines used when denim was designed for things like welding and workwear. And at $200 they are below market price for USA Made Selvedge Denim.

So what if they are making a pair of nice jeans for their customers? They still makes tees, hoodies, and whatever else they used to make. Why the fuck some of you kids get bent out of shape because they offer new nicer products in addition to what they already make is beyond me. It just is more options.

Again, no one gives a fuck about whether your jeans are selvedge denim or not except other denim heads. You most likely won't be wearing jeans to work, so your boss isn't going to be impressed. Your friends won't care unless they're into denim. Strangers on the street won't notice or care.

Basically, your only real argument is the durability/warranty. Which, I will concede, is pretty damn impressive.
