I was looking at getting the Rossignol sickle ski and was wondering if anybody on here that has them or has skied on them could give me an opinion on them. The reason im loooking at them is because i have had rossignol scratches in the past and loved them, also because they are last years skis and alot cheaper. (never skied a full rocker ski before)
I demoed them for a couple of days in some decent pow and they were a blast. Charged pretty hard and floated well. Plus they held their own on groomers. Can't speak for the playfulness because they had demo bindings and I didn't bother trying any tricks.
i have them in a 186 and love them. the get on edge really easy for the groomers, float really well in the pow, and are really light. I have them with a griffon and it works really well. I ski east coast and they can handle the crud days and just cruising groomers. There isnt a lot of rocker in it so it doesnt get floppy on the straights like the soul 7 etc.. do
Great skis! I own an early pair of 'em (I think before they were called the Sickle but its the same ski). Really good all around ski but truly excel in the deep stuff, they float and turn so well. I wouldnt recommend them for a full time park ski but great all arounder. They are also really great in the spring slush and mixed crud. Definitely still hold an edge really well on groomers too!
I'm trying them as a park/all around ski this year. Really great, I like that it has no camber for the surface swaps, but I think they are way too stiff to butter like I'm used to. But for an outside the park ski, it's really awesome.
By the way, any one looking for new park sticks should check out the Slats. I got 'em as an all around ski for this year (mainly groomers and all mountain shredding), I rode them for the first time last Monday and they are so ill.
You guys are so lucky, this is my dream ski but you can not order it all into Canada. I've tried everything, the only thing I could do was drive down to the border and and buy a pair.
Parker white used this ski in the Real Ski backcountry contest and he was tearing it up in that video:
