Yo guys I'm heading out to Aspen in early January with my university ski club for a week full of skiing/partying. What are some goods cheap places to go eat at and good bars to go to at night? Also any other cool things to go see/do and other places to avoid.
1. Hike the bowl. (do it early if it's powder day. Later in the day if it hasn't snowd in few days to allow the snow to get soft. It take an hour for first timers so plan accordingly.
2.Hike Burntside MNT to hit long shot. Stay out of burntside unless your with some locals.(you miss your turn off your hiking deep snow in Avi area.)Snowmass.
3. hit ciruqe if open.(snowmass)
4. Buttermilk for park or no crowds. There are good glade areas at BM.
5. Unless its a powder day say away from Aspen mnt. Just get so damn busy with tourist.
Food/drink in Aspen:
1 Over easy for breakfast. Always the Mcdonlds option for BF.
2.New York pizza for food with couple beers on tap. THIS IS THE LATEST OPEN RESTRAUNT IN ASPEN 1am. THEY TAKE CASH ONLY.
3. Square Grouper. Southern food/ Bar. A New place and I like.
3. Aspen Brewing Co for good micro beer/ growler fill station.
4. Little annies for beer and shot only $4. Pre game.
5.Finbarrs for Irish pub/bar. Best ruben I've ever had from here.
6. Zanes taven for cheapest bar/food in Aspen.
7. Hickory house is the best barbque place in Aspen. They deliver.
8. Big wrap for fast lunch greatness.
9. Red onion. Classic Aspen bar/food. Shot ski on hand.
10. For partying hit Erics bar, Escobar, the Regel, or any other place that has a DJ.
Food/drink in Snowmass.
1. Venga venga. Authentic mexican food and good tequila.
2. Big hoss. American-mex food. Cheaper but damn good still. They do breakfast as well.
3 New Belgium Ranger station. New Belgium beers with some food stuff.
4. Up 4 pizza. on mnt eating. expensive but good with great view.
5. The stew pot. Soup place.
6. Zane taven (There's one in aspen and one in snowmass). 10 dollar burger and beer deal for lunch.
Plus late night drinking with locals.
These are my favorit spots. There are more out there but probably be more expensive. That being said it is still expensive to eat and drink in Aspen no matter where you go. If you want to be super money saver buy bunch of food at city market and don't eat out.
Other wise be ready to drop some bills no matter where you go in Aspen.
Forgot. Check belly up to see whos playing when your here. They are know for bringing all kinds of good music.
EX: Weezer is there on the 26 of dec And Im trying to score free tickets.
yeah I've seen some good shit at the Belly Up. I remember when widespread panic did a 3-day thing there people camped out for over a week to get tickets haha. It's a sick venue.
