What are your life long goals? I'm only a few hours away from my commercial license and it's a dream coming to life so much faster than I expected. It's such an amazing feeling; seeing what the future could hold... Such a humbling feeling following in my dad's foot steps... What about you guys. What do you want to do?
I just learned a couple months ago how to direct a live tv show, doing a big late night show or something would be so fucking cool, id say thats a solid dream of mine.
work in the action sports industry, I'm really interested in the corporate side of things. like how events are organized/coats are designed/ pro skiers are picked for sponsorships. that kind of shit
Ski industry? Railroading? Professional writing? Teaching? Ski bum? ...not a clue.
I'm halfway through my third year of college and I still can't make up my mind. I guess as long as I end up doing cool things with people that make me happy, I'm alright with it.
If it wasn't for the simple fact that newspaper circulation is steadily declining I'd be working toward that full time. I tried for a few years and had some short term success in a few papers, but the industry has evolved to a point where an up-and-coming comic strip artist has to build a considerable following online before any syndicated distributor will consider picking them up. From a business perspective, that works great for the syndicate, but it's pretty tough for an artist to churn out several months or years of material without seeing any money for their online (read: freely distributed) work.
So instead I'm going for a different path that involves entertaining people through pictures. Movies. Making movies is amazingly fun.
I'll be working at microsoft this summer but don't see myself doing that forever. Id love to start a business of some kind. Exactly what im doing doesnt matter as much as it being interesting, and being able to ski
