need help with switch take offs

yeah the subject says it all. Last saturday I was trying switch take offs of this little cornice and I couldn't get them smooth. They always turned into switch butters. Any help would be great.

just be patient in spinning. maybe carve a little bit to make a better pop and spin at the right time
