There are 3 main types of camera to film with, I always see snowboarders filming handheld with old video cameras that have a huge fisheye lens, then I see the people who use DSLR cameras with Glidecam's, also there is the people who just use a go pro on a ski pole or holding it with there hand. I want to know what kind of camera you use and why. Also if someone could tell me why most snowboarders use what I mentioned before that would be great.
I use a 60D cause I like still photography as well as filming. Snowboarders use HVX 2100s because fisheye is their life, and it produces a "raw" look that other boarders and skaters like. Im not a fan but it's all preference.
Sony a65 on a glidecam. I use the a65 because its really light for a DSLR, has super fast continuous AF while filming, incredible picture quality, and shoots 60fps in full resolution.
I use a t3i on a flycam with a tokina 11-16 and a directional shotgun mic. Fuckin amazing. IMO those big old handheld things are sort of dumb, I mean it does produce a very raw image but I mean, why would you want raw over like pro looking… And the GoPro is just am as fuck.
