Who here gets awful grades in school?

anyone here with a good success story besides having horrible grades? I bet there's a lot, just because you don't have the attention span or drive to do well in school cause you want to be doing other stuff, doesn't mean you're going to fail at life at all.

I was always well-below average student all through grade school, mostly C's. I don't remember that was a long time ago. And in college I definitely failed a few classes, still got a few D's, many C's, some B's, very rare A here and there. It didn't take me long to get a good job, and I've turned down 3 in the last 6 months.

One of my old bosses even said himself he prefers more like 2.0GPA students. People with good GPA's all too often expect their smarts to just open doors for them, and can't handle adversity

I had 70s in hs math and history, but like 95s-100s in math and science and really good on sats so i got into the #1 ivy. Math and science arent above anybody, its just that some people take more time to configure their brains to understanding them. Anybody can be good at math and science, which is a good thing because ability in these areas are strong indicators of intelligence

I barely got through high school. C's were my average. However, the first time around college my grades got better but I had no idea what I was going. Out of chance, I took a trade. 3 years of hard work got me a good paying job that I get to survive on 6 months of work.
Now I have 4 months of skiing in the winter (started November 16!) and 2 months off in the summer time. With so much time, I am trying to work on getting into the ski industry; my dream since the start.

Exactly, she wanted to say that school is stupid because she sucks at everything. Sucks for kids reading that actually believing her, when they'll just end up failing at life and working at minimum wage just like that cunt.

I got horrible grades in high school and bombed my SAT's..... 3 times.  Didn't get into any of the schools I wanted too.  Now I'm a senior in a civil engineering program and without a doubt, I'm top 10 in my class.  I get way better grades than all the kids who got full rides to college because of their high school grades. 

Goes to show that high school and the SAT's are NOT an accurate representation of how a kid will perform in college.  However I understand that there isn't really any other way to gauge students... So it is what it is.

Also I passed my FE first time, it was a breeze.  So I can't just pull the "I'm a bad test taker" as an excuse to my bad SAT grades.

I barely graduated High School, and dropped out of college mid way through my first semester. I engineer control systems for some of the largest wind farms in the world. But in between, I spent time in the military, and working my ass off outside in the telecom sector. So it's a case of bust your ass now, or bust your ass later. And in the end it's more about who you know, than what you know. So know good people.

i have 5 ap classes and a 4.0 (/claim) and the trick is really just to do your homework. i never pay attention during class but always do my homework diligently. you get a lot of knowledge from it, and it'll teach you to pass your tests.
