I picked up some Audio-Technica ATH-M35's for $70. They are not as good as the legendary ATH-M50, which cost twice as much, but they still sound pretty damn good for the money. The only problem is the cord is 11 feet long, and pretty thick. This is great for some things, like you can put the cable through around your desk and have it come up underneath to keep your workspace free of cables, or you can watch TV at night without bugging people, but it kind of sucks to use on the go with an ipod. I wish it had a removable cable. That being said, if you really wanted to you could shorten the cable.

Any celebrity-endorsed headphone you buy is gonna cost more for just for the name.

I came back to say pretty much this.

If there is a celebrity name tied to it, it's 99% of the time not even worth it.
