So I'm home from college on break and my bro, mom, and I decided to get my dad new boots for Christmas. He's been riding some old ass Rossi race boots with a flex rating off the charts for like 15 years. He's a big dude that's been skiing forever. So we get to the ski shop and find a boot fitter. He measures his feet and grabs a pair of Atomic Hawx 80s. Dad tries them on and flexes the crap out of them. The boot fitter then says he has something else that he recommends. The dude comes back with Full Tilts. FULL TILTS. Like really? Can you picture my 52 year old dad rocking full tilts? It was hilarious just watching him try them on. They're also too soft so he comes back with another pair of FTs! At this point I'm like shaking my head and grab a pair of Salomon x max 120s that he ends up buying and loving.
What other bad ski/gear advice have you guys gotten from people?
