I went skiing today and attempted to do my first-ever rail. For some reason, after I'd pop 90 and land on the rail, my skis would slip and I'd fall on my butt. I tried to make sure I was looking at the end of the rail, but that didn't help. Please give me some advice or help me with my rail sliding, thanks for any useful advice

sounds like your balance is to far back (if it were forward you would have landed on your face). think about an athletic stance, like feet shoulder width apart, knees slightly bent, ready for action. your rail sliding position should be alot if not exactly liek this. only looking down one shoulder instead of ahead of you. alot of people think you need to lean back to account for the friction, but thats not the case at all. keep your weight over BOTH feet, or at most 60-70% of your weight on your back leg. hope this helps. jib on, padawan

yes, in 90-99%* of the cases thats the reason.

rails are super slidy. make sure you are centered well above your skis. pretend your dick is a swining pedulum that must be kept straight

And the Nobel award for weirdest advice ever goes to... *bu dum tshhh*
Seriously though hitting rails correctly is just something you have to figure out yourself, of course while using some advice you find useful. Yes, it will take some time, but it will be rewarding.

Keep practicing on boxes too. They will help you find how to stand and where to find the best balance. Once you have that, take it too rails and see if that helps.

Align your shoulders so they are parallel with the angle of the rail and keep a shoulder width stance.

have your feet farther apart and kneel down a bit, and don't lean back.
