New Outerwear Line

We're super pleased to share our new line of outerwear pre-released this season in a very limited capacity. We're SLC locals who had the itch to do our own thing. We are using super high end materials and our very proud of our initial but limited product offering. Jackets and Pants are all 3L and absolutely top notch.

holy fuck $1000 for a suit. i get that it might be high quality, but lets be honest, nobody here pays 1000 for outerwear, let alone from a new brand nobody has heard of

you are either gonna have to reduce your prices a ton to get any business, or try a different site. ns is primarily younger (teens and 20's) park skiers that dont have that kind of money

Our pricing is fairly competitive when you compare it to the equivalent 3L product on the market. We are also working very hard to make this product a truly made in the USA venture. We know it's not for everyone, and we're okay with that. We will be offering deals soon if you can prove you can ski. Stay tuned. Thanks for the feedback... we get it.

ehh not really. you can get 3L jackets for way less than that. at that price you can get top of the line gore-tex pro jackets

Actually Gore-tex is just a brand name, with a ton of marketing dollars behind it. We tested many fabrics that perform better, including what we ended up utilizing. Gore-tex is a great product but it is not the only high end breathable waterproof fabric out there, they just want you to think that.

What material do you use? The websites only says Japanese, thats interesting but people would like to know what they buy..
Also warranty?? And if you have followed any outerwear related threads on NS the past few years you know people want to know as much measurements as possible.. Just my 2 cents, hope its helpfull..

Our material is proprietary, and what we believe to be one of our distinct product advantages. It's made for us by Amaterrace.

We have not formalized the warranty quite yet, but this is our intent:

100% Satisfaction and the ability to return for an exchange or refund within 90 days of receipt provided the item is in as new condition.

Faulty items will be repaired, refunded or replaced following an evaluation.

We will also be offering a free repair service in the case of where crash or accident has damaged the product or if a failure has occurred after significant usage.

I really like the jacket in the dark blue, looks like something I would gladly wear. The price is high for most NSer's, but on superfuture this is pretty normal if not on the lower end of the price spectrum as far as nice technical jackets.

sounds like you had a lawyer help you write this or some shit. Your're stuff is overpriced. YOu can't just suddenly enter the market and sell overpriced stuff. Especially before you have even gained any street cred. The jackets look too plain too, like you redesigned other jackets, better, cheaper jackets. You didn't use Goretex to make it cheaper to make so you could get more profit. I would not have a prob with this shit if it wasn't ridiculously expensve. Think for a second as a customer and look at the price.

We totally realize that our gear isn't for everyone, and that's 100% fine. We're a small company trying to do the right thing, and a lot of time, effort and development went into our product. We're happy with it, and we invite anyone to come check it out in person.

As an FYI Bloom is 2L which is very different than 3L. 3L is made for mountaineering, spending time in the backcountry, hiking, and is all around more resilient.

In the future we will be making 2L jackets but we felt it would be best to start with the absolute best quality product we could produce, then move to the lower price point items. This product is on par with the quality found in Patagonia, Arcteryx, etc. We also know this is not the "typical new schoolers crowd" but I know there are people on here that spend more time in the backcountry than in the park, and that's who this product is made for.

"If you prove you can ski"?!? I don't mean to sound like a dick, but if you are a new company you want as many people as possible to wear your stuff. There is a "core" market, but when it comes down to it if you want to make money you have to sell to gapers. The worst business model a non established brand can have is an exclusionary business model, if you are not adaptable to a changing target demographic you are never going to make it off the ground. While everyone would love to easily capture their target demo, that's not normally how it happen; there will be many twists and turns along the way.

I definitely don't want 3L for mountaineering. That's super heavy! Other new brands are blowing you out of the water on all fronts. Strafe stuff is 20k waterproof 30k breathable, a single light layer of burly material called gelanot that is awesome, is lighter and cheaper. Not to mention better looking in my opinion. If you want 3L, 20k/20k, why not get saga if you are looking for a deal, or Arcteryx/norrona/Patagonia if you are looking for top of the line? Hopefully it works out for you guys, but I can't see it being competitive on any front.

cause its a small brand bro, this way, you can wait like 5 months longer to maybe get your gear you ordered and not have your calls/emails returned while your trying to figure out where it is. but its cool cause buy local, support the small guys breh.

but really, this stuff actually looks pretty awesome, depending on the fit, i think they really killed it in terms of awesome color choices in simple functional pieces but with plenty of attention to detail. definitely the kind of style i like. the price is definitely high, i dont know if i could justify paying that much. but if its something that i can use for years down the road then it makes much more sense.
I have a pair of holden pants ive had for the last 5 years that are still pretty much perfect, some very small cuts from edges and stuff like that, but thats it. where ive bought $150 pants in the past and they'll last a season before getting cut up. if i can be skiing in this stuff 5 years down the road, then i think the almost $1000 for a full setup is pretty justifiable.

the jackets are alright looking, nothing special. but i wouldn't spend 500 dollars on any jacket unless it gave my skiing superpowers. there are companies like saga offering 3L jackets for 300$ and in my opinion look better. i am sure these are great jackets but the price is just too damn high. maybe not compared to other expensive jackets but for most NSers this amount of money is outright ridiculous for anything but a pair of new skis. NS probably isnt your best hope for selling your apparel.

You're basically competing with Trew and Strafe with what looks to be an inferior product and a more expensive price point. I'm not sure why you would say you're undecided on your warranty after your website and product launch. If you want to be competitive, you certainly didn't do much market research. Trew has the best warranty in the business, and is $50 less expensive for the jacket.

Your jacket and pants style also looks like something you'd buy from Eddie Bauer or LL Bean - not exactly the tech backcountry/freeride style. Are those metal zipper? Please tell me you did at minimum, waterproof YKK zippers, not metal zippers.

Man I can get a suit with a similar caliber of durability/waterproofing for under 300. Why the fuck would anyone in their right mind pay 1k for ski gear. It's like Apple, selling computers with shittier specs than most PCs but since they have an Apple logo its magically 400-600 dollars more.

I think you guys as a company aren't giving your targeted audience enough credit. You just can't come in claiming your proprietary WPB laminate is better than everything else without some kind of technology demonstration.

I could buy Trew for less. I know it stands up.

I could stay with Homeschool that has stood up to the elements better than anything I have worn.

The list goes on.....What makes YOU better.

I don't think your stuff looks bad. It's pricey, especially for most if this community, but everyone starts somewhere. Good luck!

(Side note - you should pick a random hater in this thread and give them a jacket/pants/suit/whatever to test. See how it holds up against other stuff on the market. Good pr for you guys and if it holds up, someone on NS has first hand experience with your product)

I think what you have here is a good start, but there's certainly room for improvement. First of all, the price seems a tad steep for a product that has yet to demonstrate any particular edge over other, similar, high-tech, 3L, 20K/20K outerwear that can be had for much less. Also, for a product line that's marketed as a performance shell for mountaineers/backcountry skiers, there are a bunch of details that are expected of jackets/pants at this price point that are absent (i.e. fully taped zippers, etc.). What sets you apart from TREW, Patagucci, Arc'teryx, Strafe, top of the line Oakley, The North Face, and the countless other techwear brands that have already proven themselves, and what justifies your price point? Good stuff so far, but I think some revision is needed.









Also, how can your products be 100% American-made if the fabric used is Japanese...

If you refuse to listen to the "haters" and just blindly tell yourself your company is the greatest thing since sliced bread and that everyone is just wrong and obviously only you know the truth, you have absolutely zero chance of succeeding as a business. Well then your description doesn't match your pictures because those exposed outer zippers do not look sealed to me. You can still see the individual teeth on the zipper! Regardless, if you're looking for someone to test/review your gear, I'd be more than happy to do so. I love critiquing a good product that has room for improvement.
