Im 17, but ive skied since i was 6, but just last year i started park, with some shitty racing skis that didn't fit me and weren't center mounted..anyway i purchased some Salamon 2013 Threat park skis and some expensive park bindings hoping to actually get decent and be able to do more then 360s and basic rails, just curious on some information on how different it will be when i go up for the first time tommorow
Skiing around you wont notice much differnce but it will be an amazing change in the park there probably going to be lighter and i can gurentee you they will be much more playful
You'll probly notice the toward mount is the thing that is most different. They will probably be a lot more lively and poppy than your race skis, which generally are stiff and very damp. Probably won't be as quick edge to edge, or carve as well, but you'll be a lot more balanced on rails and in the air. It feels good to have the proper equipment for what you are doing I think you will have a lot more fun.
Well you won't be automatically great I'll tell you that. Obviously you're going to need to get familiar with your new skis (at least I did), and once you've passed that, you're good to go. Just remember that hucking your meat in the park is one of the fastest ways to progress.
Im definently an Amatuer, basically all i can do is 540, 270 on a box, and hit certain small rails, but thats with racing skis, i'm just hoping it'll be better now that i have center mounted skis
Oh yea i totally get that thanks, im just excited i guess, been waiting 2 weeks to try out these skis and im really excited to have center mounted skis so i have no more excuses to not hit rails
the new set up will be fun, center mount will take a little time to get used to but once you have it will feel really playful.
visualize new tricks before you try them.
