thankfully yes, i didnt realize what was actually happening until about five minutes into the lockdown, also when we were all crowded in the corner some kid farted.

God the more I think about this the more fucked up it is. They said on the news that this kid went to nationals in debate and ran cross country. That just isn't the type of kid I see doing something like this. I wonder if something bad happened to him or if he just had put too much pressure on himself and couldn't take it.

also, fuck the insensitive shitty reporters who were asking traumatized 15 year olds if "they wanted to be on national television"(exact quote). and they would keep trying to get closer to the school when the swat guys where telling them to get back. one of them tried to interview grapejuice and he basically told them they were being assholes.

This is fucking surreal to have this many people I have seen on NS before, some almost everyday, giving first hand accounts of something like this. Vibes to everyone involved, shit's crazy.

By the way, what happened to grapejuice? My life has been forever darkened without his insightful posts spreading beauty on this dark world.

Thoughts and prayer to you, JakeSmith and everyone at Arapahoe High School. No words to describe how bad this sucks.

One thing that this older dog really wants to share with all you guys.

We are all getting tired of grieving over things like this, and there is no reason why any of us should have to. There is never a good reason to bring a weapon to school with the intent to do harm to others and/or yourself. These are actions that cannot be reversed. We ALL no what it's like to be depressed, pissed off and to feel like the situation is hopeless. If you ever find yourself in that situation, realize that you are not the first and you won't be the last person to feel that way. It is NEVER bad enough to end it all. Even if you think that no one gives a shit and that you won't be missed; YOU WILL. If you know someone who has killed him/herself, you know how much it sucks, how much you miss them and will find little ways to blame yourself for what happened. Why would you ever want to put people who care about you through that? If you kill yourself, you may have ended your pain and suffering, but you have condemned others to a lifetime of loss, regret, second guessing and grief. Knowing that, your only possible reason to go that route is to inflict pain on ALL of the people in your life; not just the ones you feel need to be punished.

Please New Schoolers, don't do this. You will always have something more to contribute and there is always something around the corner that can/will get you stoked again. Just be patient.

Yeah Karl had two Molotov coctails and he set off one. That was why the fire alarms went off about 7 minutes in. I had thought he was just trying to pull the fire alarm so he could get us out of our rooms, needless to say I didn't flinch when it started buzzing

Vibes from Golden Highschool. After reading the artical a couple of times I still don't really know what too make of the whole situation. And one of my friends who's big in debate was super close with this kid and said that he never would have expected this. Do you guys still take finals?

Big ups to the teachers. They did a goog job staying calm and my teacher went around and tried to comfort crying girls and such.

Also thanks to the cops and authorities. They did a great job getting everyone out as orderly as they could even with 90+ students packed in the room.

They were almost worse this morning when we went to get our cars, they interviewed me but I gave them a shitty response so that they wouldn't air it or anything

vibes to all you guys over there at Arapahoe. I go to Rock Canyon (5 miles away or so) and have many friends from middle school and such that went to AHS. Thankfully, everyone i know got out, and is safe now. But serious vibes, when we went under lockdown it scared the shit out of me, can't imagine how you guys are feeling.

That whole article was so useless. Oh the kid was a Keynesian and had unusual political views? Really adds a lot to the story.

That is kind of insensitive, I was utterly shocked when I found out who it was, he was just a pretty normal dude. Like GIF said though, he did have somewhat of an anger problem though, but I don't think anyone would have guessed he would go as far as to attempt to kill a teacher.

just wanna bump this to the first page to alert people to the situation with Claire, she's not doin too good, she needs your prayers and vibes and all that. Im not religious at all but I've said a couple for her, she doesn't deserve this, she has never been anything but nice to people. So please, just keep her in your thoughts at least.
Also, Karl's sister goes to the school, she was in my drama class and she loves her older brother a lot. I'd imagine that her and her whole family are among the most distraught in this whole situation and I just want you guys to pray for them/think of them too. Thanks guys.

yeah, its really sad but i think thats what happened in the first 80 seconds, then the entire police force was there in 14 minutes.i didnt see any of it but from what i could hear that seems to be the case. really fucked up.

It's good to see schools taking offensive in situations like this. Having a deputy sheriff there that reacted so quickly and effectively probably saved countless lives. Who knows what could have happened if the only response was a lockdown where the shooter got to roam the school for those 14 minutes.
