The tricks were sick but the competition isn't about doing something smaller but stylish, the judges were obviously giving out scores based on technicality something Vincent must not have grasped or simply didn't care to do. I would guess he didn't give a fuck and wanted to have the most stylish run even if it didn't do well.

That run was some of the best shit i've ever seen, the commentators not even noticing the sw7 pretz 180... The sw12 was kinda sketchy, but what the fuck? that's not enough to take away over 30 points... Also he's the only one in the game doing double bio's... I don't think half of the people here can wrap their head around how fucking insane and difficoult that trick is. I still don't see how it's possible to do a double bio without spinning less than 1440...

Those judges must be high on fucking mushrooms to not see how fucking insane that run was.

What the fuck is your definition of "technicality" that was by far one of the most incredibly tech and uniquely stylish runs ever done.. Cause a rodeo 3 tail, dub bio 10 OCTO grab and a mute grabbed massive rainbow rail aren't tech at ALL.

I bet you think a dub 12 mute is real technical huh?

its all in the $$$$$$. vinnie's wearing gloves from like 2005, geopper's sponsors fund half the dew tour so obviously they're gonna score him retarded high. pretty sure this all has to do with some illuminati shit.

fuck the system...

vinnie did one of the most fucked up sw3's ever and his last hit was also the most on point. that run deserved at least a 75

dub post..

as far as comps go these days dub12 is pretty much as technical as cork9's were back in 08/09

dub 12 mute is some stock aerial bullshit. that trick is the most uninspiring to watch in a competition... dub 12 blunt, japan, stalefish, true nose all add something fresh to that rotation but a dub 12mute without a poke or anything is worthless and robotic

judgez seemed to always have difficulty judging tricks/runs that are so unique they are and can only be done by one person... Vinny & Cass Gagnier are the best exemple for innovation and no reward in competition. seems like someone wants people to look exactly the same, the best for progression, right?

Wtf do you mean small and stylish he did a cork 7 pretz thing which no one on this planet can do as far as I know and that dub octo and dub mute grab was insane both highly technical grabs in which half the field probably couldn't do and that nose bud 2 on to back slide was insane, the only hick up I saw was that 1260! And there's gotta be a fine line between technicality and creating a new trick, like since when is technicality all about future spins, there's more to it then just hucking your meat and Vincent showed that well in this run, he deserved to be top 5 for sure if he didn't screw up that 1260.

Landing on the 12 was sketchy, he did a right seven, there's your answer. Yes it was one of the sickest runs of the day but a sketch landing and a right seven aren't gonna cut it (Even though that scissor grab thing is so goddamn cool).

This so much. That opening 270 to one foot blew my mind, never thought I'd see that in a comp.

And I definitely got a little frustrated with all the missed calls. It seems like if it isn't a cork, rodeo, or misty, the judges are just clueless to what just happened.

A lot of room for improvement on the right-side 12, but then again, it's a right-side and not a lot of people where throwing them on the set of jumps.

The rainbow might have been a little week in terms of spins, but still impressive none the least.

Would I rate his runs one of the best? No probably not.
But I do think he should have made the cut.


But on the other hand, if you are going to take the stylish approach in the X-games, you got to be dialed in, considered that those types of runs usually don't score very well in the first place.

For a lot of the runs the commentators just waited to hear what the guy in the background said before saying the trick, and still messed them up.

Not to mention the name mispronunciations.
Fucked up Harlaut and Goepper badly.

absolutely sick run! but not a good contest run honestly. With one double i just don't see how he could go through. I mean don't get me wrong his tricks were so unique and creative but that can't compete with multiple doubles and actually doing spins on/off the rainbow rail. I think bigger tricks take precedence over more creative tricks in these competitions....im just stating the facts of what competition skiing has come too, not saying its a bad thing necessarily but its what it is right now

But if he is one of the only skiers on the planet doing a rotation (and I believe he's got a few wack assed rotations that no one else has), shouldn't they be just as technical as some filler dubs that other skiers are doing in their runs? I think B-Dog has hit the nail on the head on this one. Vinni was robbed.

This so much, I'm not disagreeing that it was a sick run, I was just pointing out that feature for feature he didn't meet the number of spins/flips that the judges seem to be looking for. I don't necessarily agree with how its judged but I would assume that Vincent knew what the judges were looking for choose to try and qualify his way. I'm really struggling to understand how russ got scored so high despite sloppy grabs and the most stock tricks of the day.

That score defs does not correspond to his run. His rail tricks were given little credit for what they were, especailly that first 2sev to 1 foot.. made it look so easy

How come nobody made a big deal of his first rail trick? That was awesome. He butter 270s in right, it's hard to tell cause they switch camera angles right when he starts to spin. He looked so locked in to the one foot grind too. Last jump was good too, such an awesome looking rotation.

Jesus. Everybody is so fucking butthurt about this. It's a fucking SLOPESTYLE COMPETITION. Honestly, what the fuck do you expect? You all sound like children who got their birthday parties cancelled. If you don't like it then stop watching.

And for everybody who said that they top three had no style for doing dub 10s and 12s.... you're fucking stupid. Look at Goepper and Henshaw's landings. They put doubles to their feet- both directions- like they never left the ground. Yeah they do conventional grabs but that's because those are the most consistent. Remember, they're trying to win here. You do what you know you can do. And Joss's hit on the wall ride? Sw lip to like 20 foot bomb drop to fakie. Somebody said his run was weak. That was by far the sickest trick of the day.

Thats the problem, when people are just doing what they think the judges will like. Yes, they should try to win, but it's creativity like Vinnie's that can pushing the sport to new levels.
