Alright, So skiing this passed weekend I got worse toe bang than I have even gotten before. So badly that my big toe turned completely purple like it would if you smashed a finger in a car door. I know my toe nail is going to fall off. it hurts whenever pressure is put on it. I am really hoping to ski this weekend and am wanting some ideas on how to make it not hurt as much. Maybe wrapping it up? Ideas guys?!? Thanks!
Hey man so many threads on this, just scroll down in this forum. Or search bar it and scroll through 51 pages of results for an answer... its there somewhere
If you dont already have them get some custom footbeds. Toe bang is usually caused by one of a few things. Landing backseat, boots too big or simply an unstable foot. The best way to help it is stabilizing the foot. This is done by molding a footbed to match th foot. This stops it extending under load ie landings ect. They can also stop your foot sliding forward by keeping the foot back in the boot by filling the medial and lateral arches of the foot. This can help with backseat landings and also improv www.a big boot however a big boot will always be an issue. Once you have a footbed you can also stretch the toe box if needed. This is one thing often not looked at. The toe box of the boot must match your toes. I for example have a square big toe with angled toes after. Barely any boots match this so I always have to adapt the shell. So there are certainly things you can do but you need to go see a goof boot fitter.
