So I just got the okay from my parents to go to Windells this summer. I understand they group it by skill levels. I think I could be in the advanced group because when they show most of the banger shots from campers in the edits I think I am as good. On rails and boxes the best tricks I can do are k-feds, 2 on - 2 off, front 4's, super - feds and switch lip back 2's. Jumps, clean 9, 720 safety, and backflip. I can hit just about any feature in parks. Jumps I hit up to 50 footers, but the rest just scare the absolute shit out of me. So would I be in the advanced group or the intermediate? Answers would be great please.
Beginner, but for real if u feel your advanced I'd go for it you'll be pushed to progress a lot more. Being around really good skiers always made me want to try and do stuff out m comfort level. If you know you can sac up and throw down with the rest I'd do it. It you want to go to hang out and chill and have fun skiing in your level go intermediate, If your main motive for going is learning new shit and stepping up your skiing go advanced. That all being said if you went intermediate your still gunna have the opportunity to throw down and try/learn new shit. Advanced you'll be around kids whome are most likely better then you which for me would make me wanna try that much harder. You'll have a shit load of in either way. I went 3 yrs back and was in the intermediate group they aren't gunna force you to do lame shit they give you a lot of free range on what you wanna do
Sorry about that. I wasn't trying to sound like a douche, The reason I said all the tricks I could do is so that you guys could have an understanding of what skill level I was at and tell me what group I would be in.
you guys are such fuckin drama queens, wah he described his skill level in a thread that is about his skill level, what an asshole right?
OP i can't help you cause i havent been to camp but just go with your gut, plus im sure they'll switch you if youre not in the right group
as someone said, it's best to be skiing with people that are a little better than you so take that for what it's worth when deciding, but don't get in over your head
maybe to you. most people don't spend that much time surfing the internet anyways what we qualify as advanced/beginner is increasingly fogged by the internet because of style. this kid may be incredibly stylie and you wouldn't know or he could be consistently rolling down the windows in his clean cork 9 you never know
I don't think he was trying to brag or anything. It seems like he's just a kid looking for insight but he doesn't understand the strict social norms of newschoolers. He will learn.
The Whole point of going to camp is to learn shit. The first year that I went to ski camp I fucking sucked balls bigtime. I was a total gaper racer wannabe and made a complete fool of myself.
The thing is that the coaches, campers and entire environment helped make me into the person I am today. No matter what skill level you are (well you should know how to ski) - camp is a blast. The idea is to be there to learn, and they'll put you in a coaching group appropriate to your skill level.
Woah, everyone gives OP shit for saying his tricks... You should have expected this by the title.. If he asked what group he should be in you would have asked what he can do many ways. It's straight forward this way.
OP is simply turning to the biggest ski community on the planet and most of the replies to his question in tale calling him a douche? How the fuck is that suppose to support a fellow skier, who wants to do his best to progress as we all should. Im stoked for OP that he is fortunate enough to go shread windells, yeah im jealous and probably am worse than him but he's not a douche for asking for advice. He actually has the balls to ask a relevant question and for that i give him respect.
Thanks man. Yeah I don't get why people r calling me a douche? I mean I posted the list of tricks I could do in a thread that was about my skill level, I guess Im an asshole for that.
honestly dude go to MHSSC its a better vibe and just as good coach wise less pro hoes and everyones really nice and way closer and cheaper and they have great people
