Well I want to create a basic jump that I can practice my basic spins like 360s/etc.
I have a fairly big yard, but its pretty flat, so I don't know where to start.

There is a hill like 2 yards over, but I don't think that old lady would be cool with me and my bros building jumps on it.
Tips, links, tutorials would be awesome!

It's really tough to build a decent jump in your yard. Even something super small. Best off finding a hill somewhere and building it there. You need a pretty big drop in to even build a tiny jump.
If you have no hills around you, can't get to a ski area ever, have the yard space, a bunch of lumber, and some time to kill it's doable.
Maybe shovel the old lady's driveway in exchange for being able to use her hill?
