Working out west? (help finding housing for 14-15 winter)

Hey guys, I have been working at a small ski resort in MN for the past two years while getting my AA degree and I graduate this spring. I am looking to find a place out west (right now looking at winter park resort) to work/live/ride next winter. most of the places I have looked at say that you need to be offered a job before getting employee housing and I am trying to figure out the best way to lock down a place to stay and work before moving out.
Any Ideas on where to look? Right now Winter Park Resort (http://www.winterparkresort.com/employment/employee-housing.aspx) is looking like it would be the cheapest place (prices starting at 260$ a month for employee housing).
Also: when would be a good time to start applying?
