Lol ,People on newschoolers need to learn that a lot of kids who compete at the world cup take this very shit seriously. Its an olympic sport now, and to some (not all) that is a BIG deal. They have coaches, and sponsors that are pushing them to do well. You might hate these people, but you should at least recognize they exist.
I love how the kid with one rail to ski on his mountain, tries to compare himself with someone like kai mahler. The people affected by this, are the people that are training for the FIS World Cup at Copper, which I assume is exactly what Kai is trying to do. Slopestyle has essentially become a sport of double corks, and clearly is would be helpful and much more safe to get some big rotations in before the competition, or limited training at Copper. It might actually cause a good skier to lose if they can't practice throwing both way doubles, while their competition in Europe can.
Anyway the point is that hitting big jumps before a comp helps a lot, and many teams and individuals have come to Keystone this week specifically to hit big jumps. They were the only jumps of that size in Colorado, probably in North America. ... You gotta admit is pretty stupid of Keystone to wait until next week...
