Base repair: any ski goo Roos out there?

I'm into my third season of maintenance on my own . I have much fun in doing so . Bit I've reached a problem . I have some base repair needed , it's right along the metal edge . Tepair area is about 2 inches long, and 3/16" wide. I've done p tex on it once and it's eroding out, I had the shop do it once and it's eroded out too. I know it's difficult to bond ptex at the edge... Should I ptex again , it pills out after 2 days on hill. Or should I fill gap with epoxy and shave it smooth? These are on my old boards, I them use for groomers and minor park in the Midwest . So I'm not afraid to experiment with them. It's no loss to me of their or repairable after a few try's . Any help thanks !

honestly a shop base weld would be the best bet. if you want to do something on your own, fill it partially with epoxy, cross thatch it when its drying (helps ptex stick), then do a ptex drip over it like you normally would

you could get a soldering gun seeing as you are pretty into DIY and stuff like that

you need a soldering iron and ptex welding sticks

and metal grip wire since it is next to the edge (you also need it for any other core shot, it will bond to the wood better than regular welding wire)

I have not used this setup but I plan on it soon. This seems like the best option for any home base repairs because the repairs are unlikely to rip out like a ptex candle drip.

filling with epoxy and sanding smooth will work, sometimes i add some fiberglass stringers to act as a sort of re-bar for the epoxy. but having it base welded at a shop and then having that base weld lifted up and epoxied back down should do the trick.
