Hey guys, need some feedback on the various news categories we plan on cleaning up. This is my suggested breakdown moving forward --

Opinions
Event
Industry News (which would include PR's, site news, product news, releases, etc)
Interviews
Feature
Story (more personal stories / experiences / "blogs")

Thoughts? Are we missing anything? Thanks!

As with all mediums on the site you're missing "other".

Haha yeah that thought came to my mind when I posted, I couldn't remember any specific examples but I've wanted an "other" category on numerous occasions.

It's definitely a lot easier to find examples for non-news articles. Often time it could simply be that categories are confusing.

But yes, I totally agree about having that other category... but the goal here would be to remove the need for "other" -- at least as often as we can.

Couple of photos from when I joined ns~ are good examples.

Ok take this for example, it's still winter, it's still mountains, It's still skiing, though it's not extreme, I'd hardly categorize it as a jump, it's certainly none of the other either. Yeah there's misc, which is what it's under atm I presume, but I mean something along the lines of jibbing would be good maybe, what do you categorize nose butters under for example?

And again, it's still winter, it's still mountains, though it's not skiing, perhaps a non ski category, something like that, probably not worth categorizing it into winter/summer but I still think it'd be good to have.

Maybe not the greatest examples at backing up said categories, but you get the idea.
