Skiing physics paper

Has anyone ever written a paper on the physics of skiing that they would like to share?

Its worth 5% extra credit and i totally blew it off until the last day and i really need to spend the time studying instead.

Dont tell me to write it myself because i will if i have to, id just rather not.

How advanced does it have to be? Can it just be like simple trig to find out the velocity and acceleration of a dude sliding down a hill with some arbitrary friction coefficient?

You can just find basic frictional and air resistance coefficients on google, use those, this problem should take maybe fifteen minutes, including web search time

How about you use energy to talk about the decrease in potential energy equaling an increase in kinetic energy, and then maybe throw in some projectile motion as he hits a jump, and some work due to friction as he slides across the snow.

I did one a while ago but I don't have it anymore. I did it on aerial skiing because it's easy to explain that in terms of physics

I did and easy one back in high school arout sliding a rail. It had projectile motion of going off the lip and landing on the rail. It had friction and kinematics in the skiding part. And then angular momentum and all that fir the 270 off.

Teacher loved it and thought it was more creative than most people who wrote about boring examples from the text book.

EASIEST thing has to be speed skiing.. Simply find a steepest slope/average slope for speed skiers, use the slope of the hill and the terminal velocity for humans, and say what the "max speed should be" and how close people have been to reaching it.

this was years ago and I traded the chronics to a Peruvian employee at my ski hill for 12 alpaca knit hats that I gave out as Christmas presents that year. I'll take the noodz, though.
