Just went to the doctor and he said I had torn my meniscus when I fell off a jump skiing. He said I wont be able to ski for a while, which sucks because my mountain just opened up a new park. Is there any way to sped up recovery time?
I had a partial tear in mine a while ago i messed. A week of football but was good to go after that. I would use R.I.C.E ( Rest, Ice, Compression,Elevation) + heat + advil untill you feel that you can ski agian. When back on skis i would consider a brace for support for awhile.
I skied all last season and played high school baseball on a full tear. If you can work through the pain, you can do anything. Take it a little slow though
I've got a lateral meniscus flap tear where the inner part of the cartilage tore off and folded underneath. Surgery in feb. Did it in august and skied all September and August on it no problems. Hitting jumps and rails. Had quite a lot of pain but just said fuck it, rather mess it up than not ski park haha. I'll ski all of January in breck on it so I can't really mess it up that much more
