Armada JJ ski size question *sigh*

So I know the saying "never buy a powder ski that's shorter than you are tall" or whatever but this is a viable question I guess. I'm 5'10, 145 pounds and charge pretty hard. I work at Eldora and ski alot of trees, groomers, some bumps and am always ollieing and pressing everything.
I need a powder ski bad and found an awesome deal on craigslist for 175cm JJ's.... would I be totally screwing myself with that size? There's alot of tight trees at Eldo and it's not like I'd be only skiing deep pow here in Colo anyway... I feel like 185 would be ideal for me in powder but I want a ski that's a little more playful. What do you guys think? would I be alright with 175?

You could get by on the 175's if you used them only for trees, chill groomers, or park use. The 185's ski so short as is, you'd be perfect on them without fear of overpowering them with weight. I am 6'2" @ 185lbs, and the 185's were really fun and playful in fresh snow, but getting them into chopped up, or hardpack snow at speeds, they lost all stability and I didn't feel comfortable on something that unpredictable.
With your weight and height, the 185's would be money. But as I said, you could definitely get by on the 175's if you were charging all over the mountain.
Either way, you'll have a good time on the skis, but I'd go 185's in your situation no question.

right on man that was really helpful. There's no way I am getting the 175 as tempting as it is. I need my stability. Thanks for the input +k

If you're always skiing eldora you'll be fine with 175's. the 185 would suit just fine as well but I don't think you'd be held back on the 175's considering it's eldora haha

yeah I remember you, you tried telling me earlier how much eldo sucks. I don't really care what you say man. And I don't know what you have out for it.. Eldo might be small, has slow lifts, and it gets pretty windy, but the trees are amazing, we collect on upslope storms and we have one of the steepest runs in all of colorado. So have fun at Breck with all the weekend warriors and gapers that go skiing twice a year.. Eldora has real locals and a tight-knit community where everyone knows everyone. Not quite the same vibe in summit county. But hey, to each their own. Hope you feel better about yourself and your home mountain. I'll be fine not seeing you at Eldo :)

Wow dude I wasn't even hating on eldora, I was just giving you advice since I know that mountain really well. As I recall I never said it sucked, just that it's not really that fun after a time or two in the glades. You take life way to seriously brudda hahahaha but yes I'll have fun at breck actually hucking off of real cliffs if that's what you want to hear. Hahahah I used to ski eldora a lot and I know exactly what it offers.
Get the stick out your ass.
