Hey fam, my brother and I were arguing about whether or not ski resorts are crowded on Christmas and Christmas Eve. Mind you, this isn't Vail we're talking about, I live in AZ and the resort in question is Arizona Snowbowl. It's not exactly a big ski market. But in general, what are your thoughts on skiing on Christmas Eve and Christmas day and what are the crowds like?
ive found that skiing on xmas day is usually not crowded in the am then picks up a little more through out the day but never gets real busy. tahoe anyway
I've skied every year on christmas day since i was in like 4th grade. Family tradition to go to our little local hill. Place is dead regardless of fresh snow or not. Its nice we've always pretty much had it to ourselves.
I have found that even at the major resorts it isn't too crowded during christmas, they get super crowded shortly after christmas when everyone is actually willing to travel
If you go a couple days before christmas and christmas day its usually not crowded at all, but after that like on the 26 it picks up because all the families go since everyone is on break
^Haha, the three above posts are all MN hills. Since the hills are so small and there wouldn't be many people out skiing anyway I don't think it would be, in a financial sense, beneficial to the resorts.
