I have a backyard setup I usually hit each winter and It is a 15 foot long pvc pipe that's probably like 2.5 inches in diameter. Last year I hit it without any wooden supports. I just elevated it in the snow and as a consequence, it was too low to the ground. Anyone ever hit a rail like this and have it still big enough to spin off of it. Like has anyone just built it up high in the snow? If so, how'd you do it?
Anyone know a good way to make supports for a pvc rail without like having a 15 foot 2x4 going along the bottom? Like just some legs on the pipe instead?
i always used to use a 4x4 at each end with little chucks of wood hammered into the top to keep the rail from sliding off the side. it wasnt perfect but got the job done.
it's fairly easy just to use 2x4's to make supports, pm me and ill tell you how i do it. I'm currently working on this double barrel FDF in as my wood tech project in my school's woodshop, wasn't too hard at all. almost done...
I just put mine on the ground which works fine except for some sliding around, and spmetimes when you grip, your tips drag on the ground. But it's much easier to use when you barely have any snow.
I have two 4cm diameter pvc rails screwed into a plank of wood with another plank of wood underneath screwed in but only on the thin side so that it supports the structure really well. I have mine elevated about a foot off the ground and haven't hit it yet, just iced my drop in and lip and am waiting until tomorrow but it looks perfect if that counts for anything...
