Just picked these up in 186 length with marker griffon bindings. Not too sure where to mount. These will be my daily drivers and charging skis/grooming. I've only had park skis before this and had those centered so I'm not sure where these go. +K to all that help! Thanks guys.
I would usually say go to recommended but as you have only had center mounted skis before you might have some trouble adjusting to the way skis are supposed to carve. I would probably recommend moving the mount +2 from recommended for a nice middle ground.
That's kind of what I'm thinking guy at the shop said reccomended... Not 100% sure yet though. He said since I probably won't ski switch much which is true but I do like switch on the groomed from time to time.
sounds like the general idea is to just go with the recommended line.. I will be taking them in tomorrow morning. Will I still be able to spin them a bit in the backcountry and some small booters at that line? and ski the occasional run switch?
I had this review bookmarked because I was thing about picking some up but bought Moment Deathwish instead...The review is written based on a factory recommended mount, but in the comments at the end there is a lot of discussion about alternative mounting positions. Hope this helps.
I ordered the skis separately. I calculated out the cost of getting the set and there was no discount.. they simply just ship them both haha. I got the bindings from the local shop and they are mounting them for free which saves me $$
I just had my 186's mounted bang on the line, theres only a boot centre mark on them and with how the metal matrix sits in them I did some measurements and came to the conclusion that due to the early rise, and its not a twin it was a pretty decent spot. Blisters review of them also said much the same thing that the BSL mark on them is pretty well dialled.
