Best Fish eye/ wide angle lense for ski filming?

im pretty new to dslr's i used to have a film setup for filming skate shit, i sold that and am getting a bunch of dslr shit this season, and im wondering what wide angle lens would be good to film skiing with? any advice for this no0bie would be greatly appreciated!

Cheap fisheye = rokinon 8mm, little more expensive canon 10-20 most expensive canon 8-16L

Cheap wide anlge = tokina 17mm tokina 12-24 expensive wide angle 11-16 (best UWA for crop cameras hands down)

I recommend the tokina 11-16

canon 10-20 is not a fisheye, that would be the 15mm f2.8 fish

well its distorted as fuck like a fisheye

the 15mm is barely a fish on a crop.

What the hell is a Canon 10-20? I can only find 10-22 and sigma 10-20

Man i have been real pleased with my rokinon 8mm 2.8 (sony amount) and before that i had the micro 4/3ds 7.5mm. They are real small light weight and defiantly sharp. I also think they have good contrast. If your looking for a good fish the rokinon is not a bad choice. Not as good as the canon but hey if i drop a ton of money on a lens i don't want it right next to a pair of skis. If you break the rokinon your only out 250 break the canon then dayum! your out a lot

fisheye: nikon 10.5mm f/2.8
wide angle: tokina 11-16mm f/2.8 - as already suggested

i have both, love them both. wish i used them more though

You didn't mention which camera you are using, but as mentioned above the classical best choices are the Tokina 11-16 for wide angle and Nikon 10.5mm f/2.8 for a fisheye.

If you are on micro four thirds, you have better options:
- Olympus 12mm f/2 is much better than the Tokina 11-16
- Samyang (Rokinon) 7.5mm fisheye is much better than the DSLR version

The usual Samuang 8.5mm fisheye for Nikon or Canon is quite bad wide open. It is ok if you are on a budget, but I'd advice investing your money in a better lens than this.

I have this lens, it is awesome, and ridiculously sharp. In real world terms (not pixel peeping), it gives results on par with some L lenses. The thing is seriously amazing. Also, I believe you can use the plugin for the canon 15mm f2.8 if you want to use it undistorted (and the profile works pretty much perfectly).

I have the canon 10-22, and I wouldn't recommend it over the tokina, the barrel is just too ridiculous at 10mm.

That being said, UWA's and fisheyes are very different types of lenses, and your biggest decision will be deciding between the two.

Wide angle: tokina 11-16

fisheye: rokinon 8mm
