This is so terrible, unknowingly this woman in my town live tweeted her own husbands death.

That's awful.....but honestly if that were me and I suspected it was my husband, I would not have continued updating my social media...nor confirmed his death like that.

Is this allowed again ? Mostly because I really dislike your presence on newschoolers, coling. And I don't know. I think she must of been in shock and she went to the habitual thing she would do in this circumstance. She probably had no idea what she was doing ..

Social media is such an odd thing. People feel like they have to answer to their followers and update them. They feel like they are waiting for em. Twitter has become the news, people rely on it to be updated quicker than any other outlet. It's an amazing and awful thing at the same time.

That being said I too wouldn't have continued updating my twitter, but I don't really tweet about anything so it's different. Can't believe that woman went through that. I can't even imagine.

It's called being a sociopath and this may come as a shock but you're going to have a lot of them in a society that focuses mainly on how other people live their lives. It's no coincidence that some of the most popular programs are "reality" shows or shows that revolve entirely around what celebrities are doing.

It's not amazing, it's just a bunch of pathetic pieces of shit with a sickening sense of self-importance. Our society will crumble because everyone will be too busy with their heads up their own or other peoples' asses.

This is one subject I know a lot about so trust me on this... and no, I'm not going to read about some bitch who live tweeted her husband's death because I jumped off the morbid curiosity bandwagon after watching Faces of Death in the 6th grade.

Amen to that. Also a heavy blow. Grief of that magnitude is earth shattering. Nobody knows how they would react to it and there really is no right or wrong way to handle it(within reason)and everybody does so differently.

She has obviously intertwined her life with social media as she seems to just post updates on local traffic. Not my cup o tea but to each their own. In any case I'm sure many of her followers are also friends and such so maybe she felt it was a quick way to tell them without going through grueling phone call after phone call.

she wasn't 'live tweeting his death'

she was asking the news people for information. it was an incredibly reasonable thing to do, as if you read the article, you'd see that 911 pretty much hung up on her. she just wanted information, and went to the best place to get fast info, twitter.


nothing was 'morbid' about this. read the fucking article people

I wouldn't say nothing. From what I understood she is a local that live tweets traffic info for the surrounding area. Tweeting about an accident only to find out it's your husband later on is a pretty morbid coincidence if you ask me.

I wouldn't call it fucked up though or anything. She just seems to provide a sort of mediocre service to anyone that wishes to follow her. Just so happened this one time the accident had a personal tie.

Yes and no. She wasn't by his side tweeting about every little thing. But yes she did tweet about his death unknowingly and her search to find out if it was him.

It is amazing because of the immediacy we can get information now. If you think about 10 years ago how we got our news and information we are so far beyond that it is absurd. When the Boston Marathon bombings happened, I found out on FB from a friend who posted saying he was okay and safe. It took another 3-5 minutes for news sites to have anything up about it.

Where I agree with you it is pathetic that people rely on others for their self-acceptance through social media, you cannot deny the immediacy of important information it provides. Though most of the time the important information is bogged down in utter crap from pop-stars.

Well yeah that seems to be the case here. I'm not clicking on some shit that says she live tweeted her husband dying so obviously I didn't read the article. I was posting based off peoples' reactions to it... and aside from that, the rest of what I wrote is true. Our society is so fucked up it's own ass.
