Out of curiousity, why do you feel that "old" ski movies are much better than newer ones, that have better skiing and better cinematography? I'm not disagreeing with your opinion, I just want to know the reasoning behind it, because it doesn't make sense to me. Is it the nostalgia factor?

for me i really like certain parts of those movies. for sessions its Pep's part. For War, it was candide's massive tree jib. teddybear crisis for Mike Wilson's part. area51 and 13 because for me those are what got me into park. for EDIAS i really like the format and the small segway interviews and comments. and the title is exactly how we all want to treat our ski season.

im a huge L1 fan and buy their movies every year. afterdark was a let down and sunny just didnt do it for me. I really liked Long Story Short and Shanghai Six the most.

I dont need to see dub 12 after dub 12 filmed with a RED camera for an entire movie. Give me some clean pillow lines and some urban (not an entire movie of it) and throw in some slow rotating switch rodeo fives and im a happy camper.

Reasons was the first ski movie I ever watched and it was my favorite until 10.23.13. That's the day I watched Supervention for the first time. I'll say no more..

EDIAS. I don't think there is any other movie out there that makes me vibe the way that movie does. It does a good job of documentation of where they are skiing and how the riders were feeling about it and their comments on it. Also I bought it before the ski season started so it always pumped me up before the season! & CR as well...

Being there. That film makes me happy...

Valhalla, for making me want to go camp in the mountains and hike to ski everyday.

Sunny for being the first movie I ever bought, I love it anyway.

The Eighty Six - I liked it more than mutiny, I preferred the feel of the movie. Still, Mutiny is fucking insane.




Yeah these are all quite new, but I'm not too well educated on older movies...

It's so hard to pick this year. My top three are Mutiny, Valhalla, and All Damn Day. I haven't seen Supervention yet but I suspect that will make it on the list too.
