No doubt this song goes in but these guys didn't just "save rap" off a single track... If you're talking about the top 40's rap then you're looking in the wrong place. Good hip hop is still out there, it's just not what they play on the radio. You gotta look for it. To sum it up, I'm just sick of people saying the same old "hip hop nowadays sucks" bullshit.

People are always overly dramatic about the state of hip-hop. There's been dope shit from artists big and small since the genre started. Obviously the level of progress and innovation that there was in the Golden Age is going to be almost impossible to replicate, but that doesn't mean hip-hop is dead. The 80's and 90's had Pac and 2 Live Crew and now we have Kendrick and 2 Chainz. Whack hip-hop has always been around and dope hip-hop still exists.

I'm loving all the stuff that's been coming out of NY lately. Bringing the spotlight back to where it belongs.

Someone was also talking about biting lines up there somewhere. I'm not the biggest fan of it but when they bite some really classic lines and do it right I can definitely dig it. I really liked the Mo Money line.

Uhh, care to elaborate? I mean I'm not really a fan of either, but I definately beg to differ, seeing as how A$AP Mob is only big because of Rocky's breakout mixtape 2 years ago. He's the only member of his team that actually has an official project, and even then he's only released 2 in 2 years. Pretty shitty grind to be honest.

Exactly, old rap is good but a lot of the beats and songs get old so I just go back to them when I don't feel like listening to the newer stuff. And OP you need to understand that only NS will like this song. I guarantee not one 'normal person' will even hear about it let alone enjoy it. So they aren't saving hip-hop ASAP Mob made an unique song with a washed up rapper big deal.

This is a great song. I wish kids actually respect real rap these days. Nothing I hate more than when kids talk about Drake being one of the best rappers. His feelings music is singing and he may be a good singer but he is not a rapper. People like Fabolous should be way more well known. Someone who stayed loyal to the streets and made ghetto ass music which unbelievable rhymes

Vado, Lloyd Banks has dropped some real good shit lately, Joe Budden is one honest motherfucker, Stack Bundles (R.I.P.) is tight, Max B is cool, The LOX is always good, and ANYTHING PRODUCED BY ARAABMUZIK! I absolutely cannot stress that last point enough, he is easily the greatest producer to ever lay his fingers on an MPC... Maybe thats an exageration, but still the guy is way too good.

Oh and Fabolous is really, really well known. Love the guy to death, but he has most definately not stayed loyal to the streets. Somewhere around 08 he changed, and the majority of his music has just been love songs, and southern crossovers. Every once in a while he comes out with something tight like Transformation, Body Bags, BET, Mo Brooklyn Mo Harlem Mo Southside, and Money Talks, among many others, but his discography is way watered down by some pretty lame releases. Plus his mixtapes are always way better than his albums.

He was always of until he released there is no comp 2. That and the original there is no comp are two of the best mixtapes ever. But his first three albums Ghetto Fab, Street Dreams, and Real Talk are also very, very good. More recently like ever since There is No Comp 3 he started changing into more feelings music that is not nearly as good as his old stuff

That beat is fucking fire, dope song. Although I might have to disagree with the whole ASAP Mob is saving hip hop. While Rocky's mixtape was ill his new album is mainstream bullshit, hopefully they go more this direction and less wild for the night and palace. Although I definitely agree the hip hop revival is in full effect.

personally, i kinda like the way rap is headed. don't get me wrong I'm not a fan of trap music or pop rap or anything of the sort but once the underground stuff come to the light rap will come back. Joey Bada$$ is one of many really strong entities for the underground scene. The XXL Freshman class last year sounds somewhat familiar to Mobb Deep, some Redman, and a lot of chill kinda laid back hip hop of the 90s. Pro era, Flatbush Zombies, MF DOOM, Logic are some of my favorite MCs i could see it really making a hip hop revival. i said it before but i'll say it again, i like the way rap is headed and there's a bright light at the end of the tunnel waiting for us.
