Replying to Boots for Atomic Tracker bindings

Looking for some boot advice. I tried searching the forum and couldn't find an answer to my question so I thought I'd ask. I'm getting my first touring setup this year and am wondering what boots I should be looking to pair with Atomic Tracker/Salomon Guardian bindings. I know they are built for alpine boots and that regular touring boots won't work. I've been riding Full Tilt Hot Doggers for the last three years and really like them so will be keeping them for park riding. Does a walk mode like you see on the Salomon Quest or Atomic Waymaker Carbon boots really make that much of a difference for touring or would I be fine in my Hot Doggers? I'm willing to spend the money on new boots if I will notice a difference but would rather not spend the cash if I don't have to. Will be doing mostly sidecountry stuff but will also have a few full days of backcountry touring.
