Armada ARV Skis 2013The Armada ARV Skis are hands down, one of the best all mountain skis on the market. The longevity of the ARV is a testament to its versatility and durability making it a staple in the Armada line. This ski has been with Armada since its foundation 10 years ago, and unlike any other 10-year relationship, you'll take nothing for granted as its versatility and reliability will continue to impress you run after run, season after season.
Rocker Type Positive Camber - Traditional camber engages the tip and tail of the ski, enhancing ease of entry and exit into and out of a turn, while maintaining solid edge control.Flex Flex Pattern - Tip: 5, Waist: 7, Tail: 6 (1=soft; 10=stiff) Core Double Zone Core - Two high density wood stringers rest alongside ultralight wood in the ski's core and add to stability and strength without compromising weight. Laminates Laminate Matrix - Deliberate directional layering of fiberglass dictates flex pattern and torsional rigidity and allows each ski's flex to be precisely tuned. Bi-axial fiberglass runs in an “x” pattern down the ski to control lateral flex; Uni-directional fiberglass controls flex along the length of the ski; Tri-axial fiberglass, with fibers running in three directions, beefs up the center of the ski. CK Stringer - Carbon Kevlar combo stringers lie on top of the laminate matrix along the tail to brace the ski. This increases the landing platform, especially when weight is distributed farther back in the ski than intended. It also gives the ski more pop and extends ski life.Sidewalls ABS Sidewall Construction - A full sidewall construction of two strips of ABS material lie directly alongside the core and over the ski’s edges, providing solid edge hold, core protection, and stability. Base 50/50 Base - A blend of speed and durability, this base is faster than Armada’s S7 base but more rugged than the Comp series. Edges 2.5 Impact Edge - This edge has an oversized height and width, and the steel is heat-treated to a proprietary hardness, which helps resist breaking and tearing out from rails, ledges and any other abuse it might meet. Binding Compatibility Bindings not included We recommend a brake width equal to or at most 15 mm wider than the ski waist width.
