Seriously who goes to the top of Palmer, almost 8500', and steals old shoes and a crappy book bag? Be careful with your stuff folks. My wife and I left our shoes and some water and food at the top of Palmer in an old book bag and went skiing on Friday. We like to do this so we have shoes to wear in the parking lot to save some damage to our boots. On the 29th our bag was stolen between about 2 and 2:30. All that was in our bag was 2 pair of old shoes some empty disposable water bottles banana peels and garbage. The only thing that pisses me off more than getting my stuff stolen is the thought that this same ass hat might have just littered my stuff once they realized what it was. Anyways it is nothing I cannot do without. I know that theft is always a possibility so I didn't leave anything of value in my bag. In the future I am going to hide anything I stash on the mountain even if it is very low value.
I had to drive home in socks but I didn't let it affect my plans. We still stopped at fearless brewing to fill our growler with strong scotch ale which was excellent. Whoever stole my smelly shoes will get it from karma in the end.
