anybody have experience with this? seems really similar to a glidecam/flycam for a pretty decent price. i cant afford a glidecam and ive heard mediocre things about flycams on here, and nothing about the opteka. its only like 120 so is it a good buy? btw ill be running a t2i with a tokina 11-16

Tbh imo I think that all these glidecam knock offs are a lot like the walmart brand cereals. Like they taste like captain crunch but they just arent the real thing. They are pretty decent though. Just my opinion though. It should work fine kinda but it wont compete with the real thing

i know it wont work as well as a glidecam, but frankly i dont have the money for a real glidecam. and i'm just getting into filming and i need something for a trip in ~3 weeks and there is no chance i can afford a glidecam before then. so my options are this or a flycam

I have the flycam 3000 and I love it, really great build quality, and it super steady. Highly recommended!

Like I said. It'll get the job done. Just will be a hell of a lot harder to get those super smooth dreamy shots. But if your just starting then I'd say go for it

The only benefit of a glidecam is the worm gear that makes setting the balance point of the camera quicker/easier. I've got a flycam dslr and it takes a little while to set up but once it's done. The stabilisation is identical, the only difference could be the fluidity of the bearings but this is negligible at most.
Tl;dr get a flycam

I wouldn't do it man. You see it told time and time again just to wait until you can afford the real thing. I did and have no complaints about the glidecam, but have made other purchases that I really wish I just held out on until I had more money. If this trip is in a couple weeks, you could always try a different approach and go for shots that aren't follows-- or use a fisheye and follow cams without stabilization will be usable atleast
