I just read that Paul Walker, star of the Fast and Furious movies died in a car crash today.
Hopefully this isn't true.

That's great and all that he contributed to charities and whatnot, but he was definitely one of those "actor's" that caught a lucky break and somehow got into Hollywood. Dude couldn't act for shit and just seemed to be pretty cheesy in general.

Tragic nonetheless.

Um...I'm not sure if you're aware of this, but at least 90% of current famous movie stars can't act for shit. They're pretty faces to generate sales.

So why single out Paul Walker for being a shitty actor? It has no relevance to what anyone was talking about. He was obviously a pretty cool dude and did a lot of good things in the community. Who gives a shit if the only reason he had that kind of money and fame was because of a "lucky break" in Hollywood? At least he wasn't a dickhead like most celebrities.

I thought the fast and the furious was his shit, like the matrix for keanu. It worked well.

Also I like him in other things even though his acting skills were great. Timeline was cool. And he seemed like a good dude. Interested to see what they do with the next movie. Caught up on 4 and 5 yesterday and the day before. Now I'll have to see the 6th at some point.

I already acknowledged it wasn't perfect, and I literally pointed out everyone of your observations in my post. The whole point is that doing inverts at high speeds on 22ft. ice walls may be "normal conditions" for halfpipe skiing and yet to 99.9% of people it is a totally unnecessary risk, and bound to end in death. You don't think a race car driver has gone 140 or done donuts and skidded around 1,000 times?

You're throwing around "standard boundaries" and normal conditions, and they're meaningless terms that vary wildly person to person and discipline to discipline. "Normal" or not that doesn't change the fact that skiing purposefully off of cliffs, and doing flippy spinnies above a solid ice wall are exceptionally dangerous things that the average person writes off as stupid, risky behavior. Just because a subculture decides some behavior is normal, that doesn't mean that it'll be received that way by the majority, namely after someone ends up dying.

I don't know if you read about Tunnel Creek, or Sheep Creek and the associated comments, but pretty much everyone within the back country ski community thought of those incidents as tragedies (criticisms and second guessing duly noted) and those who picture wedge turns on groomers as skiing saw it as dumb reckless behavior that led to the inevitable.

The driver was dumb and Paul shouldve stopped him considering it was a Carrera GT which are twitchy as fuck. Still so upset, had such a good personality outside of acting

In case you can't read the front of his racing suit, it says PORSCHE MOTORSPORT. I am in no way defending his actions behind the wheel, but it's not like this was the first time he drove a Carrera GT.

to be fair, GTs are supposed to rip in half when they crash, which is why it did. the Aventador that crashed a couple months ago did the same thing and it wasn't going very fast.

Yup they have safety cells that separate in the event of a crash. Your toyota camry will not act the same as a super car in any sort of car accident. People trying to quantify the speed of teh collision based on photos after the accident are idiots

If people stopped posting about them and putting them all over the news they would go away. They're aiming for anything high profile that will get them back into the news. That's what they've been doing. Ignore them and they'll go away, if everyone keeps giving them the attention they seek, they'll continue.

watched the The Fast and the Furious (2001) today. i seriously fucking love those movies and ive seen all of them multiple times. its a damn shame.

yea someone posted a live stream of all the movies last night watched up to fast 5 then watched fast 6 today. fast 7 isnt done yet universal said so theyre trying to figure out how to finish the story while the actors take a break from it all. best movie series ever made

You sir are a fucking douchenozzle. And judging by your account half of me wants to think you are trolling.

Paul Walker had a niche, car films. Just like Jason Statham has cookie cutter action films and Will Ferrell has comedies. I was worked up, I love cars and the fast and furious movies were awesome (though at points cheesey and unrealistic) but who the fuck cares, they're movies. I could list 100 movies that were worse than Fast and Furious. Just because a film or actor doesnt appeal to you doesn't mean "society as a fascination with all the wrong things". Jesus christ man, people were upset that an actor, humanitarian, and overall good guy died. What the fuck is wrong with you?

As for the other two actors you brought up, people mourned their passing as much if not more than Paul Walkers so I guess I'm really missing the point you are trying to make.

Either way you slice it Paul went out the exact way he wanted to, behind the wheel.

Its sad you make such assumptions about people based on a movie or actor they like. Just because I like cars doesn't mean I'm the type of kid that has a "riced out subaru" and "does donuts in the parking lot after a day at the mountain". If you even want to get technical it's nearly impossible to do donuts in a FWD car (like the one that I own). No, I liked those movies because there aren't really any decent ones out there...

Go look at his filmography and tell me every single one of those movies is terrible.

Once again, movies and more specifically actors are purely subjective to the viewer. You could view a movie as terrible and it could be another persons favorite. Please, tell me what makes a great movie? A great actor? And celebrity obsession? No no no. People being upset at the death of an actor is certainly not celebrity obsession.

And you know whats truly funny? I think Philip Seymour Hoffman is in my top 20 favorite actors and, in my eyes, he's made some atrocious movies. And furthermore, Im sure there are plenty of people that think he sucked. You are simply voicing your opinion and acting like its factual. I'msorry we don't agree, but we don't agree.

I wish I had a "riced out subie" but I have a 2001 crv that is just fine in snow. He wasn't a shitty actor, he had a solid non alcoholic and non coke head career
