I see where you're coming from, and I tend to almost agree, but I don't know. I consider the death of CR, Sarah, etc. to be tragedies, but to the uninitiated, the risks they took daily would seem inordinate. If you look at the comments on other sites, people express the same sentiment which pretty much amounts to, "well, they were asking for it".
Granted, these are not exact parallels, and they were driving on an open, public road, thus potentially endangering many others who did not willingly take the risk themselves. But, no one else was hurt, just them, and even though what they were doing was clearly pushing the limits and ended in death, I still think it's really sad and unfortunate. Is it a tragedy? I don't know, probably not, but then again, that word gets thrown around lots.
