Head Warranty WTF

Backstory: I have(had) a pair of Head SL skis that had delaminating edge. I sent them to the store of purchase, ARTECH. The skis had a two-year warranty. ARTECH accepted them.

Okay, so I sent the pair of skis to ARTECH early August. ARTECH sent them to Head, and Head has had them ever since. I call ARTECH about every three weeks to get the status on these skis, and keep getting the answer of "We are waiting on Head." (inb4 sex jokes)

My question is, what the heck, season is already here: did Head just fuck me over? What is the usual waiting period for replacement skis?


Sparknotes: Head has had my skis in warranty for over three months, they keep claiming they are on it. What is going on?

Usually they are really good on warranty, I had an edge pop out. My local shop sent them a picture of it and they sent new skis (gave me a choice of 2 pairs and bigger size since I grew) Came within 2 weeks. I shattered the wood underfoot on the warranty foot when I fucked up on a disaster (no pun intended). Shop sent pictures in and got another new pair of skis. I'm sure they will hook you up, just be patient.

Depends on how busy the Head factory/NA Distributor is. If your first races are soon, I would contact Artech and let them know and put some pressure on them to find out.

Sorry for the double post but I had a similar experience with Atomic and it took me contacting the NE Race Rep directly. Look into that. I believe the NE race rep is Ben Drummond at least as of 2011-2012

Yes. He was the Eastern Race Rep a few years ago. He may be able to help you out in a squeeze. Artech should know who the newest rep is as well. Worst comes to worst, ask other shops in the area if they can get you in contact with them as well.

They are most likely waiting for replacement skis to arrive. Things get held up in customs all the time, which means NO ONE knows the status of when the skis will show up.

Also, there is usually one single person dealing with all of the country's warranties so, be patient. There are a lot of people in your situation but I'm sure you will get an answer soon.

I was just getting worried that I has lost a thousand dollar race ski to some unknown person. This was all helpful information.
