i'm not a park skier at all, that for sure wasn't the reason i didn't like it. i think why i thought it was boring is because there were waaaaayyyy to many interviews and athletes talking. after 8 or so years seeing every movie companies films every year there isn't much these guys say that i haven't heard a thousand times before. i think that's why i loved valhalla and into the mind, they both told a story without using words at all or using a fictional story. i loved it. supervention is just the same thing we've seen hundreds of times before.

Wow. Just want to say that this movie absolutely blew me away. This certainly made the shortlist of my favourite ski movies of all time. Jesper is out of his fucking mind! But props to the whole crew ! A masterpiece of filmmaking !

I liked it, however, I didn't like it as much as Being There.

I feel like Supervention didn't have much flow to it. Don't get me wrong, the skiing was fucking sick but I feel like they made the layout of the movie a little weird by putting in short, awkward segments here and there. And way too much talking.

As I've said earlier in this thread, I loved Supervention!
But I can understand that someone think it's a bit boring and include too many interviews and talking. However, Supervention is a documentary more than a regular skiporn movie and therefore need the riders to tell about why they travel to a certain locations, the work behind a shot and their motivation. By bringing the movie to the big screen (at least in Norway and Germany) it tries to reach out to a wider audience, that doesn't necessarily know anything about our sport. I think it's great the way Field present the beauty of our sport to normal people in this Olympic season.

Also, I just need to say how great the spring park ending segment is. Great soundtracks, especially the custom ones from J Sigsworth. The drone and phantom shots are AMAZING. Jesper and Tom killing it in the air. It just makes me really happy and stoked to ski!

I think it's my favorite ski movie of all time. Some of those urban features were on a level I haven't seen anyone else reach. There was also some crazy big mountain skiing and they managed to make a park segment that wasn't stale repetitive like so many in recent movies.

I definitely understand where people are coming from with the complaints about the lengthy interviews. I thought these were interesting and entertaining the first time I watched the movie. Unfortunately after multiple viewings the interviews lose their effectiveness much quicker than the skiing does. I can enjoy an interview about skiing one or twice but I can enjoy straight up ski porn a hundred times if its good.

This is why Supervention could quite possibly be my favorite ski movie of all time even though I may only watch it 5-10 more times compared to movies like Parly Cloudy or All Damn Day that I will probably watch many more.

^ completely agree. I love the Level 1 DVD s with director commentary cause its sweet to get all kinds of cool background info, but then easy to turn off and just watch the bangers. I wish wallisch project had a wally commentary version talking about the project and adding in his sense of humor.

bump. 

Field productions upped the anti with their RED cameras.  I just watched All I Can, then watched this.  All of the shots are so much clearer, making the movie that much more enjoyable. 

Time for other companies to make the investment in a couple red cameras because it makes that much of a difference.

I always loved watching the director's cut from Get Lucky so it was awesome to have the full movie follow suit for Supervention. Maybe it's just because they're all Norwegian, but I seem to enjoy the "adventure documentary" style much more coming from them, than coming from English speaking athletes. Maybe it just gives off more of a mystique to the movie. Every time Tim Durtschi talked I was like "meh", but then again, his skiing spoke for himself more than words.

I don't wanna give away too much, but I loved the intro segments with freestyle mixed in with other forms of skiing to show off the sport. Made me feel cool to be a freestyle skier.

The cinematography was amazing, definitely worth 1080p!!!!

It's probably the only film where I noticed a big difference(obviously there's differences in other films but this was big enough to actually change the level of enjoyment) between laptop and iphone screen, so yeah it might be worth watching on tv.

really enjoyable! tho i wish the did a skiporn version as well as the documentary, as they have done that before on get lucky and one of the others if I'm not mistaken!

But holy shit, the camera work, the sound and the skiing, mind blowing!
And Even and Jesper, they're glued to that metal, haha!

Best ski movie there is. I didn't find the interviews boring. I rarely watch ski movies many times over but I've already seen this one a few times and will keep going.

I noticed that the file on iTunes was updated to fix some of the English subtitles haha. I almost miss the little mistakes, they added charm and say to me "we are too busy making a banger ski movie to give a fuck about translating our words perfectly"

This movie is freaking incredible. The cinematography, editing and music are really well done.

The last session with Terje's mute, Sandbech, Tom, Jesper etc. going off is so well done.
