Sorry, this will probably sound really dumb, but what's the west coast like? I live on the east, and I only hear about the east being icy and cold and that snow will stay longer because of it being so cold. Is it the opposite in the west? Just currious

This we get tons of beautiful snow on big ass mountains but I feel in the east is where the true passionate skiers are, those who grew up on tiny resorts and keep skiing through the conditions and stick with their love for skiing just have a greater appreciation for the sport when they come out west.
I completely agree, also growing up skiing out east or midwest gives you much better control on ice and variable conditions. I grew up in the midwest, then moved west, and i can say that growing up on such bad snow conditions really helped me as a skier.
