Ok, the news has sunk in and now I'm left with questions.

Can DC still ride at a high level? I mean, he's one of my heroes and I loved the crap out of him back in the Strike Three/ Forward days, but I know that IBS forced him to step away from skiing professionally. That's a sad but legit move on his part and I'm just curious if that has been managed to where he can ski at a high level again. Again, beyond stoked.

IIRC, it was not IBS, but Chron's (IBD).

IBS is very different and makes it seem like less of a big deal than it was.

I completely agree with you, but I do think its a valid question. I mean Seeing Candide's run at the world cup was a massive disappointment. Not only was it not good - it wasn't even creative or interesting.

There's still a chance that it was only a tactic and that in the big show he'll blast out - and I really do believe this could happen - but there's also a chance that watching our old heros shred a modern course might be incredibly disappointing.

Some of my idols I'd love to leave them on the pedestal they are vs. seeing them not perform.

of course, I feel that this event is exactly the right place to do it. The idols (look at A Few Words) are often able to be very creative about what they can do, and accomplish different things than we have all been seeing. So if DC can pull it off, and the event is the right place to do it - I'm certainly going to be stoked to watch.

No way man, I wouldn't hate on Terje for being "old and washed up". I posed a legitimate question though, he stepped away from professional skiing because of a medical issue and basically hasn't been heard from since so I think it's a fair question to ask if he is still skiing.
