Spraying

What are your thoughts on spraying other slope users whilst skiing. Personally I love it and usually aim for those standing in the middle of runs or bladers. Any stories?

Also in before others make comments about spraying OP's mum.

Random gapers on the knuckle (actually in your way) -> tell to gtfo

1)they stay there -> speed at them, act like spraying but don't really spray, just stress their need to gtfo

2)they yell "fuck you" or something -> actually spray and add evil laugh

3)they leave -> everything is awesome

I love getting sprayed. They usually assume you can't keep up with them....I can. Some douche took a nice hip check for spraying my little girl at T-Line last spring.

I think it's really mean at like not nice at all. And I think the people that do it are bad people. I used to think Ian Compton was super cool and good at skiing but then he sprayed us all at mount snow and I got sad. Not I don't think he's cool because he wasn't nice.

I consider myself a pretty decent sprayhead, but this is the one aspect of skiing vs. snowboarding where if executed properly the latter wins hands down. Ihave been knocked over by slushy snowboard spray. Also Marc Frank Montoya is the boss of spraying, fucking ruthless taking out grandmas and shit.

Once, at the bottom of a run, I blew past a "slow" sign and absolutely unloaded the heaviest snow possible on my friend who is a pretty big guy. Little did I know that ski patrol was standing right behind him. My friend ducked a little and like 50% of the snow went flying into the patrols face and knocked him over. He was so fucking pissed, I don't know how I didn't get my pass clipped.

I took my friend skiing for the first time. He fell down. I covered him with snow from an almighty spray. When the snow cleared, his leg was broken in two places from the fall. He was crying.

Ten years later, he still hasn't forgiven me.

Spraying friends is all in good fun, just shenanigans, no harm done. It gets hairy when you're hauling ass on a groomer or something and spray a random. Trick is to master the speed check spray, have to be able to make a speedy getaway.
