Need a new set of sticks for this upcoming winter

I mean, the title pretty much says it all. I'm 6'4, 180 lbs. Advanced/Upper Advanced, mostly a park rat, a bit of skiing all over the mountain. And I live in Maine, skiing mostly in the South and at Loon and Cranmore.


That being said, I'm monetarily challenged right now. I was looking at this years Chronics but I'd prefer to get a pair of skis from last year in good/new condition. Anything over 179cm. Like I said I was looking at Chronics, Iron Maidens, Domains, and Punx. $500 is really as high as I can go.

How much skiing all over the mountain? And In what kind of conditions? I can't speak for the other skis, but the domains aren't too incredible in crud, if it is even semi-frozen (In their defense it was my first day on them, and I've never been on a center mounted or symmetrical ski.) They handle slush remarkably well and are a softer ski. Which means they will handle smaller jumps and rails excellently, but will struggle on large jumps. Also they handle groomers very well.

I'm a ski instructor here at a local mountain, so a fair deal. I've been looking at the Atomic Infamous.

As a ski instructor ask around and see if you get pro deal, I would recommend that strongly
